Marriage story you can learn a lesson from.
I and my
husband loved ourselves so much to the extent if he travels and leave me at
home I would cry like a child. I am Jane from Nigeria, a mother of four kids,
and mu husband Richard from South Africa but based in Nigeria. He is a
businessman ventured into construction works. He loves his family very much
more especially his last daughter Vanessa, Kingston, Daniel and Precious envied
Vanessa for this but their father never really paid much attention to it, I
should say he never really took the envy seriously. Vanessa and I were very
close because she always appreciates me for the little things I do for her
unlike the others who paid less concern; they regarded all I do for them as
mummy’s duty to them. My family was fun, understandable, enjoyable, loving and everything I wanted my family to be was my husband was the hardworking type and he hardly stay at home even if he is the owner of the business, he never jokes with it. He comes home late and when coming he brings home Groceries and goodies for the family to share and eat.
It happened
like this for years until one day the devil struck, I had never suspected my

home one day at about 8:45pm with lipstick stain on his shirt, I was surprised,
I decided to ignore it and at the same time I wanted to know the cause of the
lipstick. After having his bath, he ate his food and decided to spend little
time in the sitting room watching a seasonal movie then I walked up to him and
showed him the lipstick on his shirt, he just smiled and said I should wash the
shirt its nothing. I insisted to know so I asked him what happen to your shirt,
then he said one of his business client came from Canada and she decided to
kiss him due to the joy but he told her he is married so she decided to do that
on his shoulder shit and that is all nothing more to it. I believed because I
have never seen him with another lady apart from his clients. Several weeks
later I came across a lady pant in his trouser, I was shocked all this were
happening at a time I thought my marriage was the happiest marriage but joy
started ceasing in my mind because of all this, I decided to ask Richard about
it but later on decided to ignore it. We went on like that till my first son
broke the news one day.
One Saturday
morning, I and my family were having breakfast, it was sandwich bread and Tea I
had woken up a little bit earlier that day I am sure Richard ate before leaving
for work, Kingston started by saying “Dad that lady is beautiful, she looks
like my Aunt in school” my husband just smiled and told Kingston to eat his
food. All I was waiting for was the cool and best time to come in and say my mind
but the opportunity was not there. At about 7:55am when my Richard was about
leaving for work, I told him I have something to discuss with him but he
insisted I wait till he comes back. Later that day, I took my kids for a treat
I mean a surprise treat, just then due to the joy that filled Kingston mind he
gave me a letter, I was surprised what kind of letter should it be. As I opened
it I received the biggest shock of my life. It was a letter from my close

between them, I was shocked and at the same time I was expecting it because I
saw signs. I asked him where he got that from he replied “ Aunt Anita friend
always give me letter to deliver to dad but I don’t deliver it because I read
them and I don’t like the words used so threw them away and besides you
shouldn’t know about the letter, she always give me money anytime she gives me
a letter, promising to do me more favour as long as I continue to deliver the
letter but mum I love you than Aunt Anita s I decided to let the cat out of the
bag than been loyal to her”
I looked at
him for a minute and was wondering what a child he is, while soliloquizing he
told me not take an action that will make I and Richard to have a fight
meanwhile I was already registering in my mind to pick up a fight when he comes
back but from the way he spoke to me I decided to make all things calm.
Finally, Richard came back from work looking tired and helpless but instead of
bringing up the issue, I cuddled him, made water for him to bath and prepared
his dinner, dress his suit. Now he was ready to relax with his seasonal movie
but I never talked to him about my friend Anita. Kingston though I would raise
up the issue but I kept calm. After about a week he was in the office and he
called and told me he wants to see me and I should meet him in his office. I
quickly rushed to meet him. For sure what I expected to hear from him was what
he told me. As I could do was just smiled and told him I know everything about
it, I even went ahead to show him the letter Kingston gave me. He was shocked
and he said “so you know all this and you never say a word or did something
stupid rather you showed love and care” and told him when a man is married to a
woman that is the period he faces more temptation because single likes men who are
married and that is because they feel jealousy I know the kind of man that you
are, I know you weren’t the one to ask her out and I also know the kind of
friend I have who likes to hangout with men that is the main reason I decided
to keep calm and not just keep calm and do nothing about it but waiting for the
right time in confronting that my beast that calls herself Anita. My husband
Richard was shocked to hear this immediately, he knelt down and started begging
me for cheating on me and promised never to try it again. I forgave him and
also told him if he tries it again I am going to react in the manner that will
not be comfortable with him.
When we got
home that day, first of all he called his family on the dining table and stated
apologizing for all the wrong he has committed but only a and Kingston could
understand properly what he was talking about and just when he was through with
his apologies, his phone rang it was Anita, immediately he picked up the call
and kept it on loudspeaker for everyone to hear the conversation. Anita was
throwing sweet words to him in form of greetings then my husband spoke with a
loud voice telling her never to call his number again and never to give Kingston
letter to him again and also he told her that he is never and will never be in
love with her, he also told her that as a matter of fact he is with his family
and the call is on loudspeaker, immediately she heard that, she switched off
the phone and I smiled at my husband, I know she’s still gonna call him to
confirm if Richard was speaking genuinely or because he is with his family but
I know Richard very well he loves me and we both understand each other, he
never called her and she never called also.
CONCLUSION: In this life, we may say action speaks louder
than words, but in ti this case it wasn’t like that Vanessa received a shock
(the letter) but never took it seriously to act on it, if she had acted the way
she wanted to the case would have been different probably a divorce or a fight,
but she handled everything with wisdom and things worked fine in her home. Not
all times we should take action for things, sometimes the opposite of what we
ought to have done is the best solution for it. Temptation is everywhere even
in marriage, but the foundation you have build up with your partner. Read also
