COVENANTS IN RELATIONSHIP AND MARRIAGES (ITS HAZARD AND BENEFITS)

INTRODUCTION: Covenants has been existing long time before you and I were born. Years ago, men and women go into covenants with God as regards to a particular situation that needs a solution or an end to such problem thereby God orders men to go into covenants with him. There were lots of people who made covenants with God in the bible. People of these days lack deep meaning of what covenant is, some mistake covenant for contractual agreement or just words of agreement to do a particular thing or task and nothing more. Covenant is far more than that and it is something we don’t need to joke
about because it’s consequences when violated can be very dangerous to the violators or those who break the covenant.

WHAT IS COVENANT: Covenant is a binding force that exists between two or more people in which a punishment is attached to anyone who breaks or violates the laws or principles on which the covenant was made. We can also say covenant is where two or more have law, decree, obligation, oath, binding on them thereby causing a relationship to exist between them in which there is a punishment attached to whoever violates the reason or purpose for which such covenant was enacted. Covenant differs from agreement in the sense that you can agree with another to carry out a task or do something together without anything binding on it, it is just an agreement that there may likely be no punishment attached to such but in covenants, anybody who breaks the oath upon which the covenant was made must face the consequence(s).

THE BASE: Covenants are usually oaths taken by people in order to gain trust and reliability from fellow partners. When people go into oaths there are different methods to seal the covenant which was made between them. These covenant sealing methods are done for the purpose of gaining trust, confidence, reliability and accomplishment of task according to the covenant rules in which the violator receives a punishment. There are so many methods to seal covenants which include:

1)    COVENANT SEALED BY BLOOD; this involve piercing of the human flesh to produce blood by all the partners involve in the covenant and joining them together by oaths taken.

2)    COVENANT SEALED BY SACRIFICE: This involve the killing of an animal (usually cock, goat or ram) to seal the covenant.

3)     COVENANT SEALED BY SPIRITUALITY: That is a stronger force above the earth seals the oath which had been taken by the partners involved in the covenant.

In this article, we shall be considering the covenant sealed by blood as it is regarded as the strongest of all mentioned above because the procedure for terminating blood covenants is very difficult. To find it easy to break, all the people involved are to agree in doing so but if all the people involved do not agree, it can be very difficult to break (you need serious prayers to break loose from such covenants)

Consequence or hazard of covenants in relationship is when violators go against the laid down rules of the covenants; a very terrible punishment is attached to that violator which can even lead to death of that person. In a situation where one of the partners in the relationship decides to quit the relationship, he/she has to undergo difficult process in other to break such covenants, it can be easy when the partners involved decides or reaches an agreement to break the covenant but where there is no agreement it can be very terrible.

Avoid going into covenants in relationship, there are other ways for your partner to gain your trust, love and be reliable to you rather than risking each other’s life by going into covenant. This is my advice for you.
